For most people, leaving home is something they rarely think about. For this client, it hadn’t been possible for years.
Due to the property’s layout and accessibility challenges, wheelchair access beyond the front entrance was extremely difficult, leaving him effectively housebound. To restore safe access, we designed and installed an external platform lift connecting the home’s entrance to street level.
The lift enables the client to be wheeled from the house onto the platform, lowered safely to ground level, and continue outside with confidence.
What might appear to be a simple accessibility solution has had a profound impact, restoring freedom, mobility, and a level of independence that had been out of reach for many years.
One client’s bathroom and separate toilet no longer met their mobility needs. The shower over the bath was hard to access, the floors were slippery, and wheelchair access was limited.
We removed the dividing wall to create a single open, accessible bathroom with a wet-floor shower, non-slip flooring, enhanced wheelchair access, and support rails positioned specifically for the client.
The result was a safer, more functional bathroom designed to support long-term independence.
